![]() We run this with a 12v garden tractor battery. Youre soaker hose would probably be much slower flow than a drip tape, so would need several hundred feet of hose to keep it from pulsing on and off, but thats probably OK too. ![]() If I am not mistaken, the pump pushes enough water to steady flow 150' of drip tape without pulsing. We set up some small drip irrigation demonstrations, using a 12v chemical pump from Tractor Supply. I think I will look into that 12v pump as unfortunately where the tank sits and all around it there is no hill. I could leave that sucker on all day and I would still need to haul milk jugs. Right now it will only run one hose and then seems like no water comes out after 15 minutes. I had set it up to have a 1 1/2" hose go to the side of the garden and then run 1" discharge hose the length of the garden with t joints running to the rows with soaker hose attached (the type that have no visable hose ). Well right now I fill the tank using a pump that my husband (countryboy ) has in the sprayer trailer and fill it through the top of the tank. Posted 22:40 (#1806836 - in reply to #1806509) Subject: Re: Needs a pump for water tank to water gardenÄrip needs about 10 to 12 pounds, so it would need to be 20 feet below the tank outlet to work by gravity. ![]() ![]() Sump pump does not do well in a pressure situation, needs to be free flowing pretty much. Edited by 19:41 Any ideas on what type of pump/motor to put on this so I can get a little pressure instead of hauling gallon milk jugs : ) 19:38 (#1806554 - in reply to #1806509) Subject: Re: Needs a pump for water tank to water garden Thought that it would work with just gravity but soon found out that is a no go. So I have a 1000 gallon water tank that I set up with soaker hose to water the garden.
